Game Mash Mods

I just learnt people are writing mods that put multiple games together. Specifically, they run both games at once and add mods to both that allow them to intercommunicate. Then you can be Minecraft Steve running around Skyrim, with the ability to place blocks that actually block Skyrim enemies and blow NPCs up with TNT.

This is happening with many game combinations. Of course people commonly use AI for this, and sometimes they go so far as to use AI to reverse engineer and then rewrite the entire game (in Rust, naturally).

I am feeling very ambivalent about AI in general and about how it might kill us all, but in the meantime I am enjoying seeing these a lot. This is so cool! I love how smoothly some of these game mashups integrate and work together. Diving down the Skyrim mountains with the Minecraft elytra – I feel like a teenager again, discovering for the first time how cool video games can be.
